Speaking on The Athletic Football Podcast, Sean Dyche has been discussing what he’s been up to lately and while he’s been seen at the City Ground a few times this term.
The ex-Burnley boss has been spotted on the banks of the Trent every so often this season to watch the Tricky Trees at work, and with Forest sitting at the bottom of the Premier League, there have been rumours about whether or not Dyche is looking at taking Steve Cooper’s job.
However, Dyche claims that this, quite simply, isn’t the case, stating that he’s not scoping out any new jobs right now and that he only goes to watch Forest as they’re local to him and he enjoys making casual observations at the games.

The gaffer spoke about why he’s been seen at the City Ground lately.
“I pop down to local clubs such as Forest, but I’m not scoping anything out, it was merely casual football observations and I’ve been taking a proper break from it,” Dyche said.
“The last month I’ve started getting back into it making sure I have an eye on Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2, of course and keeping an eye on what’s in the marketplace.”
Nothing in it
Dyche says that there is nothing in any story linking him with a move to Nottingham Forest, and we’re inclined to believe him.
Steve Cooper has only just signed a new contract, so he seems to be safe for now, and even if he were to be sacked, Forest would likely aim higher than Dyche – with all due respect.
Indeed, there have recently been reports that Forest had been looking at Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel, so it would appear that Dyche isn’t the profile of manager they would go for anyway.
Dyche has simply been watching Forest as any of us would watch a team local to us, there’s nothing more to it than that.
