Brandon Austin was among the young heroes for Tottenham Hotspur’s UEFA Youth League side on Wednesday.

Scott Parker has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that goalkeeper Brandon Austin deserves a lot of credit for Wednesday’s youth win over Monaco.
Tottenham beat their French counterparts in the UEFA Youth League with a 3-1 penalty shootout victory yesterday, after the game finished 1-1 in normal time.
Parker’s side fell behind on 45 minutes through a goal from Nabil Alioui, but Keanan Bennetts restored parity for the North Londoners five minutes into the second half.

Austin made fine saves for Spurs before and after the break, as well as keeping out Francesco Antonucci during the shootout.
And the former Lilywhites midfielder has singled out the young keeper for praise.
“We had our moments but Monaco certainly had their moments as well and I thought the longer the game went on, they might feel a little bit aggrieved that they’ve not got the winner,” he told Spurs’ website.

“But some heroic defending and a couple of great saves from Brandon kept us in the game and we know penalties can go either way. We practiced penalties yesterday a little bit, we tried to prepare the players as much as we could but I don’t know how much you can replicate the nervousness of actually playing in a shootout.
“Thankfully we did well and Brandon made a good save in there as well, so it was pleasing.”
