Some Everton fans on social media are excited at the prospect of Ben Godfrey and Ben White playing together after the Brighton centre-back was linked with the Toffees.
Centre-half pairings are often the most important thing in any squad, and in White and Godfrey you’d have two incredibly talented, young, ball-playing defenders.
Aside from the fact they’re both called Ben, there’s reason to believe that Godfrey and White would be an excellent partnership for years to come, and the Toffees fanbase are very excited about this prospect.
Centre-back is a position that can quickly develop into a problem area for any club, but if Everton had Godfrey and White, they’d be set for the best part of the next decade.
Of course, signing White isn’t going to be straightforward, Brighton reportedly want £50m for him and Arsenal are also in the race, but we have to admit that the idea of White playing with Godfrey at the heart of defence for Everton is exciting.
