According to the Daily Mail, Everton want to sign Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion this summer.
The Toffees are set for a summer of spending, with the board at Goodison Park reportedly assuring Rafa Benitez that he will have freedom in the transfer market, and it seems as though they’re going to get things started with a bang.
Indeed, White will reportedly cost £50m, which would make him one of Everton’s most expensive signings of all-time.
Unfortunately for the Toffees, they’re not the only club in for White with Arsenal and Manchester City both linked, but with Benitez at the helm, they could convince the England international with an exciting project.
If White was to join, one man who may be very excited is Jordan Pickford.
The Everton goalkeeper is seemingly a big fan of White, describing him as ‘brilliant’ just last month, and now it seems as though the pair could become teammates at club level as well as with England.
It looks as though a tug-of-war is impending for White’s signature with Everton, Arsenal and Manchester City all in the race, and with a £50m pricetag being reported, this could be one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer.
