The agent of Saul Niguez has contacted Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool about a potential move for the midfielder, according to AS.
What’s the story?
It has been reported that the Atletico Madrid midfielder’s agent has made contact with several clubs regarding a potential transfer of the two-time Europa League winner.
Liverpool and Manchester United are among those clubs.
Atletico and Barcelona are discussing a swap deal involving the 26-year-old and France international forward Antoine Griezmann.
AS reported last month that Liverpool and Manchester City want to sign the Spain international midfielder this summer.
Would Saul make Liverpool better?
Saul is a very dynamic midfielder who can play in a defensive role, further forward or box-to-box.
The Daily Star quoted Barcelona and Argentina international forward Lionel Messi as saying about Saul in March 2021: ”A complete midfielder – he has it all.”
When Messi praises a player, you know that he is quality.
Georginio Wijnaldum left Liverpool for Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.
Saul could just take the place of the Netherlands international midfielder in manager Jurgen Klopp’s team.
If Atletico are willing to sell Saul and his agent has contacted Liverpool, then the former Premier League champions should at least look into the possibility of getting a deal done.
