Everton will now be looking to make a sustained push for the top seven after back-to-back wins.

Toffees assistant manager Sammy Lee sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and offered an insight into the manner in which Sam Allardyce approaches games, highlight the emphasis that he places on keeping clean sheets.
Everything is starting to look a lot brighter at Goodison Park, following consecutive wins in the Premier League. They now sit in 10th position in the table, and Allardyce’s men can finally start to look forward, rather than behind them.
The 63-year-old’s appointment as manager at Everton wasn’t exactly met with much optimism from the Blues fans, but Saturday’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield offered the Goodison Park faithful a glimpse of what could be in store for them over the coming weeks.

And during an interview with EvertonFC.com, Lee explained how Allardyce always likes to build from the back, ensuring that his side are organised and compact before they contemplate trying to express themselves in the final third:

“It is vitally important for everybody that we keep clean sheets. Sam has a basic that you build upon and one of them is clean sheets because from that you can do anything. With the forwards we’ve got we feel we can always score goals. It’s a positive platform to build on.”
Next up for the Toffees is the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Sunday, and with the likes fo Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino firing on all cylinders for Liverpool, Everton will need to be at their very best defensively, if they are to take anything from the game.
