Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after a ‘worrying’ rumour involving William Saliba began to appear in Germany.

Kicker have revealed that Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing the French centre-back.

Interestingly, the Bundesliga outfit own Edmond Tapsoba.

Tutto Mercato Web revealed that Arsenal were ‘close’ to signing the Burkina Faso international just a few days ago.

In that respect, perhaps there could be something in this rumour.

It’s very feasible, in our view, that Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen engage in some sort of swap deal for the two centre-backs, with cash potentially involved too.

Now, judging by the comments below, Arsenal fans would be absolutely furious if Saliba is allowed to leave.

How has Saliba’s Arsenal career gone so far?

Despite joining the Gunners in 2019 for a huge £27 million, the 20-year-old is yet to actually make a competitive appearance for the north Londoners.

Saliba has spent time on loan at AS Saint-Etienne and OGC Nice, where he’s looked quite impressive at the back.

Of course, it was Unai Emery who signed him, not Mikel Arteta.

As a result, it’s possible that the Spaniard doesn’t actually want the Frenchman, in our view.

Football London revealed that Saliba will be handed chances to impress Arteta during pre-season.

If he fails to do so, who knows what’ll happen.

If he is sold, then things could turn toxic at the Emirates Stadium.

The responses below suggest that Arsenal fans are desperate to see Saliba in action, and will be livid if he leaves the club.

Let’s see how they reacted to Kicker‘s report…
