Ben Foster recently revealed the bizarre Deadpool prop Ryan Reynolds gifted him following the Welsh club’s promotion.

Ben Foster shocked the football world recently when he announced his decision to come out of retirement to play the last seven games of the season for Wrexham.

Despite signing for a relatively short amount of time, the former Manchester United and England goalkeeper has already gone down in Wrexham folklore. Foster made an incredible penalty save in the dying minutes of Wrexham’s crucial match against rivals Notts County to ensure a vital 3-2 win.

Foster has also appeared to strike up an incredible relationship with club co-owner Ryan Reynolds, and recently revealed the bizarre item given to him by the actor.

Ben Foster reveals bizarre Deadpool prop Ryan Reynolds has gifted him

Reynolds went viral recently after Wrexham sealed promotion with a 3-1 win over Boreham Wood and interrupted Foster’s postgame press conference.

Reynolds asked for the goalkeeper’s shirt, but now Foster has revealed that he also received something in return.

Speaking on his Fozcast podcast recently, the Wrexham star said: “This is incredible right so, Ryan Reynolds text me the day of the [Boreham Wood] game to say, ‘can I have your shirt?'”.

“I was like ‘yeah cool’ and he was like ‘cool, because I’ve got something for you as well'”.

“I was like ‘what on earth’s this?’ So anyway he texted me yesterday and said ‘I forgot to tell you what it is’.

“He says, ‘I was going through my memorabilia the other day of Deadpool and I found the original gloves that I wore in the film’.”

However, Deadpool’s glove wasn’t the only bizarre bit of movie memorabilia Reynolds is sending Foster.

In a comment reply to the video, Reynolds wrote: “I’m also gifting you the Deadpool underwear. Which, to be fair, smells better than the shirt you gave me.”

Foster admits he’s considering returning to play for Wrexham next season

The question on everyone’s lips after Wrexham sealed promotion was whether Ben Foster intends to stay in goal for the Red Dragons next season.

Foster admitted he hasn’t made a final decision yet but that he feels part of the team and will have to sit and think hard about what he wants to do.

“I’ve played seven games now and I feel like part of this team more than any team I’ve ever been in, genuinely,” Foster said the Fozcast.

“I have settled in so quickly. The lads are brilliant and the club as a whole is so welcoming, so warm.

“The fans have been incredible and that has genuinely sparked my interest like you wouldn’t believe where I am genuinely going to have sit down and think about this now.”

There’s no doubt the ex Premier League goalkeeper has been a major coup for Wrexham during their run in, and would be an amazing asset to have around the club in League Two next season.
