Arsenal talent Folarin Balogun was once again in top form last night for England’s U-21s, with the striker bagging a brace in a 3-0 win for the Young Lions.

The attacker has been a regular member of Lee Carsley’s side this season, and following Balogun’s loan move to Middlesbrough in January, the 20-year-old striker has developed his game further.

The Hale End academy graduate is beginning to show the promise of being a real quality striker at a first-team level. And for England, Balogun is showing his development in a big way.

Indeed, it wasn’t just Arsenal fans who were impressed with the striker’s performance last night against Albania, with numerous British media outlets also lauding Balogun after his two-goal performance for England.

The Sun hailed Balogun’s performance as ‘ruthless’, with Carsley himself lauding the Arsenal youngster’s display in an interview with the Daily Mail, with the England U-21 boss pleased with what he saw from the striker.

The coach said when asked about Balogun’s display: “He’s got a lot of top attributes to play at the top level. He has to keep scoring. It’s important these players push themselves.”

England performances are huge for Balogun’s Arsenal chances

Next season is shaping up to be a massive one for Balogun, with the striker set to play an active role in the Arsenal squad if the Gunners qualify for Europe in any of the three competitions on offer.

And impressing at international level will be key for the striker playing regular football with Arsenal, with Balogun’s England performances a strong sign of where his development is heading.
