Rumour from Tottenham suggests Antonio Conte is already losing faith in Richarlison – Our View

Tottenham and Antonio Conte showed a lot of faith in Richarlison back in July when spending £60m on his services.

It represented a club-record investment by Spurs, after the Brazil international scored ten Premier League goals for Everton last season to keep them in the Premier League.

However, Richarlison has struggled in north London, and a rumour coming from N17 suggests Conte could already be losing faith in the South American.

Tottenham may be losing faith in Richarlison

Well, the Tottenham No.9 has failed to score in ten Premier League appearances so far this season, which is not exactly what you would hope to get from a £60m signing.

Now, Spurs are said to be interested in signing Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund in 2023, in a rumour which could suggest Conte is already looking for a fresh attacking option amid Richarlison’s struggles.

That was according to 90min, who believe Spurs sent scouts to Borussia Dortmund to watch the German wonderkid in action.

Moukoko has impressively scored six goals and provided six assists so far this season at the age of just 17, doing enough to earn himself a place in Germany’s World Cup squad.

Tottenham already have Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski, all of whom are outdoing Richarlison, so if Moukoko was brought to N17, you would fear for the Brazilian’s chances of playing time.

Richarlison must step up for Tottenham

Hopefully, Richarlison has a strong World Cup campaign playing at No.9 for Brazil, as he needs something to get his campaign going.

Tottenham have only seen two Champions League goals – both in the same game, a 2-0 win over Marseille – from their record signing so far, and someone needs to ease the goalscoring burden on Kane.

That was the reason Richarlison arrived, so he needs to start repaying Tottenham’s faith in him.

If he continues to struggle, then we certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see Moukoko come in and take his place, especially as he has already admitted he wants to play alongside Kane.
