West Ham and Manchester United could both be in store for at least one new signing in January, after a rumour emerged from German football.
According to Sky Germany, Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing Vladimir Coufal from the Hammers this winter.
Now, the timing of this story is particularly intriguing, as a move to the Bundesliga for the Czech Republic international could trigger a domino effect in the transfer market.
West Ham & Manchester United could make signings
Well, the rumour about Coufal interests us, as it comes just weeks after Sky Germany also claimed that Manchester United are interested in signing Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.
Both Frimpong and Coufal play at right-back, so it’s possible that Bayer Leverkusen are monitoring the latter as a replacement for the Dutchman, who has been on fire since joining from Celtic.
Frimpong has scored five goals and provided one assist in 13 Bundesliga outings so far this season.

Now, let’s explore that domino effect.
Coufal joins Bayer Leverkusen, which provides the German side with a replacement for Frimpong, then making them comfortable in selling the 21-year-old to Manchester United.
Once those deals materialise, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will then be allowed to join West Ham.
According to The Athletic, David Moyes is interested in signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, although Erik ten Hag has refused to sell the Englishman before finding someone else to provide competition for Diogo Dalot.
Frimpong would be that man, so Ten Hag – given the fact he has only handed Wan-Bissaka four minutes of football this season – would then surely be happy to offload the £50m man to West Ham.
Crystal Palace could upset West Ham & sign Manchester United outcast
One potential issue in this transfer merry go round is the fact Crystal Palace are also keen on Wan-Bissaka, again according to The Athletic.
The 24-year-old came through the academy at Crystal Palace, and seeing as he has admitted to supporting the south Londoners, we would not be surprised to see the Manchester United No.29 back in SE25.
Keep an eye on these respective situations going into January, as a lot could happen.
