Brighton could now be preparing to sell Robert Sanchez to Tottenham as Roberto De Zerbi considers a move to sign Brice Samba.

It was 90min who revealed that the Seagulls are closely monitoring the 28-year-old’s stunning performances for RC Lens, where he is shining after leaving Nottingham Forest back in July.

Well, Brighton already have an outstanding No.1 in Sanchez, so their interest in Samba is certainly intriguing.

The Spain international has been consistently superb for the Seagulls, earning international recognition and even making the World Cup squad ahead of David de Gea.

It was TEAMtalk who revealed that Tottenham are watching Sanchez as they begin to prepare for life after Hugo Lloris, who turns 36 in December.

That same report states that the 24-year-old has taken his value up to £50m due to his excellent performances in the Premier League.

Sanchez has impressively kept 25 clean sheets in his 78 Premier League appearances, and also boasts fantastic technical ability with his feet, helping Brighton play out from the back – something most top sides will drool over.

Tottenham must find alternatives to Brighton glovesman

While it can definitely be argued that Brighton are preparing for life after Sanchez amid interest in Samba, Tottenham should probably be ready to look elsewhere if the Seagulls hold firm on their £50m asking price.

The Spaniard is a fine goalkeeper, but for £50m, Antonio Conte could get his hands on a truly elite glovesman, such as Jan Oblak – the Slovenian is not at his best right now, but he has proven himself capable of being among the greatest.

There is also Jordan Pickford, who will have just 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season.

90min believe Spurs are also looking at the England international, so if Brighton refuse to budge from their £50m valuation of Sanchez, the Everton No.1 could be a cheaper option.

Whatever happens, it is certainly interesting to see Brighton target Samba – maybe their goalkeeping situation is no longer as settled as it seemed.
