Crystal Palace have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.

Liverpool interest

A report in The Daily Mail earlier this week claimed that Sarr is on the radar of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool (click here to read more).

With the Hornets having been relegated to the Championship, they may have to sell some of their best players, and the winger could be one of them.

Good signing for Liverpool

The 22-year-old Senegal international winger made 22 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Watford this past season, scoring five goals and providing four assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Although Liverpool won the Premier League title with ease in 2019-20, the Reds do need to strengthen, and Sarr would be a smart signing and would make the Merseyside outfit stronger in attack.

Competition from Crystal Palace

However, former Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is also interested in Sarr, according to a new report in The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Palace are planning to make an offer of £40 million for the 22-year-old and have identified him as a potential replacement for Wilfried Zaha.

Interestingly, The Daily Star has also claimed that Palace are looking at Watford forward Danny Welbeck as a potential replacement for Zaha.

It seems that the Eagles are exploring all options should Zaha leave this summer, and that could affect Liverpool.
