Fabrizio Romano has an update on Twitter on reported Tottenham Hotspur target and Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic’s future.
Tottenham Hotspur interest
Earlier this month, Sport reported that Tottenham are interested in signing Pjanic from Barcelona.
Spurs have enquired about signing the 31-year-old on a loan deal in the summer transfer window.
Mundo Deportivo reported at the weekend that Barcelona have offered the Bosnia and Herzegovina international the chance to leave on a free.
Pjanic joined Barcelona from Juventus only last summer for a transfer fee reported on the club’s official website to be worth €60 million (£51.32m).
Tuttomercatoweb have reported that Spurs are ready to pay Pjanic’s current salary.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Fabrizio Romano update
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano now has an update on Pjanic’s situation.
The SkySport and The Guardian journalist has reported that the former AS Roma star has actually refused the chance to leave Barcelona by mutual consent.
Interesting weeks ahead
Pjanic refusing to leave Barcelona by mutual consent does complicate things a bit for Tottenham.
Signing the midfielder on a free and paying his salary would be much cheaper and simpler than negotiating a transfer fee with Barcelona.
It will be interesting to see what happens now.
We can be sure that we have not heard the end of this situation, which is likely to develop in the coming weeks.
