Tottenham reportedly face competition to sign Manchester City talent Adedire Mebude, with Club Brugge now in the race to sign the 18-year-old winger.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Scottish youth international is attracting interest from the UEFA Champions League side as suitors continue to draw in on Mebude, with Tottenham reportedly keen to bring the attacker to north London as Newcastle United also eye the winger.

Hailed by City’s official website as a ‘magical’ talent, Mebude is highly-rated at the Manchester giants and is regarded by many as the next big talent to come through the club’s academy, with the winger joining the English champions from Rangers back in 2020.

This summer has seen the winger promoted to the club’s U-21s as a slew of players left the Premier League 2 champions on permanent deals, yet for Tottenham, they could now sign another one of City’s youth prospects in Mebude if they can win out over the likes of Brugge and Newcastle.

City’s ability to produce exciting young products is now at a rate where every year there seems to be one or two players with the potential to become something quite special, and Mebude fits that bill to a tee, yet the winger should be looking for a move to Brugge rather than Tottenham.

After all, whilst Tottenham also have a great youth record of their own, signing for Brugge has the potential for Mebude to play first-team football as early as this season, and for any teenager, this is the most important factor any club can offer for a player looking to break into senior game.
