The New York Knicks and WWE might be too completely different worlds in terms of the sporting element but with both brands’ links to Madison Square Garden, there’s also a crossover.

WWE classes MSG as its home away from home really and over the years we’ve seen some of the greatest matches ever put on in front of the New York crowd.

Furthermore, that crossover has increased in recent years as well, with Knicks star guard and finals MVP, Jalen Brunson, getting involved in the actual storylines alongside Tyrese Halburton not too long ago.

Now, after seeing the Knicks end their 53 year wait for an NBA championship, WWE superstars all over have been sending their love the way of the new champs.

WWE superstars react to New York Knicks’ NBA title win

Seeing the Knicks get it done really did feel like one of the biggest moments in recent sporting history.

This is a city where sport means so much to them and while they’ve had plenty of success in baseball and other sports, the wait for another NBA ring has been too long.

Sure enough, their win over the Spurs has generated plenty of interest and WWE superstars, including Roman Reigns, led the congratulations.

For the stars of WWE, there were a few involved who were genuine Knicks fans, so the feelings would have been multiplied.

Danhausen has been an obvious Knick fan and his social media posts have took the internet by storm.

Damien Priest and Matt Cardona are also lifelong Knicks fans and they both posted.

While Cardona simply wrote ‘KNICKS BABY!!’ on his own post.

Stephanie McMahon also sent her congratulations to Brunson and the Knicks, adding:

“MVP! YOU DID IT! Congratulations to @jalenbrunson1 and the @nyknicks on their historic victory last night! Hear more from the new King of New York on #whatsyourstory.”

With WWE set to return to MSG in July, we can expect a celebration of this title win once again, with Danhausen set to play a key role in proceedings.
