Roger Federer has made a few appearances in tennis since his emotional retirement at the 2022 Laver Cup.
He played a doubles match alongside Lleyton Hewitt, Pat Rafter, and Ashleigh Barty at the Australian Open.
Federer also attended the 2025 Laver Cup in San Francisco, where he saw Team World upset Team Europe.
He is now set to play a grass court match for the first time since Wimbledon in 2021.
Roger Federer to play Hall of Fame Celebrity Pro Classic

Set for induction into the Tennis Hall of Fame this year, Federer will mark the occasion by returning to play a match.
He’ll take the court at Newport in the Hall of Fame Celebrity Pro Classic on 28 August, marking another return to the grass.
A tournament press release stated: “192 career wins on grass, 8 Wimbledon titles, 65-match grass-court winning streak.
“There are few sights in sport as timeless as tennis on grass, and few moments as meaningful as seeing Roger Federer step onto it again, and you can be there to witness it.
“Watch Roger Federer play on the surface he dominated throughout his career at the Hall of Fame Celebrity Pro Classic presented by Fidelity Investments.
“Legends and celebrities will return to the court for a day of world-class tennis on the historic grass courts of Newport, and you can be there!”
The event takes place at a venue known for hosting champions such as John Isner, Adrian Mannarino and Hewitt during its time staging the Hall of Fame Open.
Roger Federer’s last appearance on grass
Federer made it to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 2021, which turned out to be his last appearance at the tournament and on grass.
The Swiss star defeated several of his long-time rivals on the ATP Tour, including Adrian Mannarino and Richard Gasquet.
In the third round, Federer eliminated Cameron Norrie in straight sets, disappointing many British fans who had high hopes for Norrie’s run.
He then went on to beat Lorenzo Sonego, confirming his place in the quarter-final of a tournament he’s won a record-setting eight times.
Hubert Hurkacz ended Federer’s Grand Slam run by defeating him in straight sets. The Pole even handed Federer a bagel in the third set, just the sixth of his career.
