Rodney Marsh has expressed his surprise on Twitter at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s remarks on Alisson after the defeat to Manchester City.
Liverpool suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
It was one of Alisson’s worst games for the defending English champions, as the Brazilian goalkeeper made two bad mistakes that resulted in goals for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The defeat to City has pretty much ended Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League title for the second season in a row.
After the match, Liverpool boss Klopp suggested that Alisson’s mistake could have been due to cold feet.
TalkSPORT quotes the German as saying: “Maybe he had cold feet? It sounds funny but it could be.”
It is not clear if Klopp was joking, but his comments on Alisson have stunned former Manchester City forward Marsh, as shown below.
Meanwhile, former Everton midfielder Joey Barton has given his take on the two penalties during the game.
Barton believes that Manchester City attacking midfielder Raheem Sterling and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah both went down too easily.
The Englishman has also defended Alisson despite his two big mistakes against City, as shown below.
