Chelsea shut off the outside noise to claim a tricky 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.
Enzo Maresca has had to deal with a lot as Chelsea manager so far, but after four matches, his team are sitting seventh and they have two wins to boot.
Their win at the Vitality Stadium was full of fortune and bravery because the home side missed an early penalty.
Robert Sanchez, who has come under fire from Chelsea fans during his time at the club, was the man to save the spot kick after he fouled Evanilson.
Late on in the game, Chelsea’s new signing Jadon Sancho came off the bench to link up with Christopher Nkunku for the winner.
But the London club rode their luck throughout the game and especially towards the end when the Cherries were banging on the door.
There was some fine defending from Levi Colwill, who is now a key member of Maresca’s backline, but he wasn’t happy with one of his teammates in stoppage time.
Philip Billing attempted to cut the ball back into the penalty area, but Colwill was alert, in position and he intercepted the ball for a corner.
The England star then proceeded to scream and shout at his teammate, with the leading commentator pointing out that ‘he isn’t happy’, as he told Sky Sports Premier League (14/09/24 at 9:50 pm).
But then Sky pundit Alan Smith noticed Sanchez trying to tell Colwill to ‘calm down’ as Chelsea saw off the late threat and secured all three points.

“He’s (Colwill) isn’t happy, not sure who he is shouting at though,” said lead commentator Seb Hutchinson
Alan Smith responded: “His keeper is telling him to calm down. I don’t know whether that (Colwill shouting) was at the ref or a teammate.
“But that could have easily have ended up in his own net.”

Boost for Robert Sanchez
That penalty save and clean sheet will do Sanchez the world of good because he has needed it given the pressure he is under.
Chelsea have purchased every goalkeeper under the sun, which indicates that the powers that be aren’t happy with the Spaniard and their number one position.

But, as of this moment, he is the main man between the sticks and he needs to enjoy this current moment.
The fact that Chelsea have spent a lot of money, it doesn’t help anyone’s cause because it just creates overreaction when the team lose.
