Speaking on The Harry Redknapp Show, Robbie Keane has given his verdict on Harry Kane’s predicament as rumours swirl about his Tottenham future.
Keane certainly knows a thing or two about making a big-money move having played for the likes of Inter, Tottenham, Liverpool and Leeds during his career, and he’s put himself in Kane’s shoes.
What’s been said?
Keane says that if he was Kane he’d be worried about the turnover of managers at the moment and the fact that Nuno Espirito Santo hasn’t won huge titles during his managerial career.
“If you’re looking at a player like Harry, I know there’s a lot of talk about Harry going. Now, if I was in Harry’s situation I’d be thinking ‘every two years we’re changing manager and then they’re trying to get stability for us to win something’,” Keane said.
“So what does Harry do now? Does he say ‘I’m nearly 28, can I hang around for another couple of years?’ And you talk about the manager coming in and he hasn’t gone and won huge titles, obviously Conte had and Pochettino has done well at PSG, but he didn’t win a league title, so Conte was the only one with that pedigree.”

Dilemma
This is the crux of Kane’s problem.
The striker has been loyal to Tottenham for years, and he’d probably love to stay and win titles with Tottenham, but he has to weigh up how achievable that is.
Spurs haven’t won a major trophy for over a decade at this point, and with the club struggling financially due to their new stadium and the ongoing pandemic, it’s hard to see how they will compete for the top honours in the coming years.
Keane certainly believes that there are a number of things Kane has to be considering this summer.
