Rio Ferdinand has raved about reported Arsenal target Alexander Isak on BBC One (10:02pm, June 14, 2021).
The former Manchester United defender was impressed by the performance of reported Arsenal striker target Isak for Sweden against Spain.
Ferdinand believes that the 21-year-old striker was a problem for the Spain defence, as the Euro 2020 game last night ended in a goalless draw.
What’s been said?
The Englishman said on BBC One (10:02pm, June 14, 2021): “He was a nuisance. He showed today why he has got Young Player of the Year in La Liga. He was the outlet.”
Alan Sheaer said before the game on BBC One (7:42pm, June 14, 2021): “He has had a magnificent season at Sociedad. 21 years of age. Scored on his full debut at 17 years against Slovakia to become the youngster ever goalscorer for his country.
“17 goals from 34 games last season that earned him the Young Player of the Year in Spain, so you can understand the hype, you can understand why there is an excitement about him. Big hopes for him.”

Arsenal rumour
The Athletic reported earlier this month that Arsenal are interested in signing Isak from Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window.
Then last week, as we covered here on HITC Sport, Cadena Ser reported that the Gunners have already opened talks with the youngster’s agents about a possible transfer this summer.
How did Alexander Isak play?
Isak did not have the service against Spain, but the 21-year-old was still a problem for the opposition.
The former Borussia Dortmund forward kept the Spain defenders on their toes and went close to scoring.
The Sweden international forward took one shot which was on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 75%, won two headers, took 20 touches, attempted two dribbles, and made two interceptions.

The 21-year-old also made seven starts and one substitute appearance in the Europa League.
