Rio Ferdinand thinks Harry Kane is ‘off’ and he will secure a transfer away from Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur this summer amid interest from Bayern Munich.

The Manchester United legend stated that there is ‘unrest again’ with Harry Kane, after he was previously ‘not allowed’ to join Manchester City, as he told talkSPORT.

Whilst Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy remained pretty stubborn, at the time, he doesn’t hold many cards this time around because his star striker’s current deal expires in less than 12 months.

That’s probably why he met with Bayern Munich officials to thrash out a possible deal, it seems as though the German club are ‘£20 million’ short of what Spurs want.

That’s the big thing here. Levy meeting with the interested party. That never happened with Manchester City and he still probably wouldn’t do that with another English side.

Either way, Ferdinand thinks it’s time Kane headed for the exit door and how he will be asking for the club to ‘let him go’ and win trophies.

“He’s off,” said Ferdinand. “I just think he will go now. It has gone on that long. It is an on-going saga. He wanted to go to Manchester City, but he wasn’t allowed. Unrest again.

“Unfortunately for Spurs, unless the new manager comes in and does miracles and creates an unbelievably different culture environment that we have never seen at Spurs in many years, then he’s not going to win anything at Spurs.

“He has given his best years to that football club. He deserves to be able to go out and say ‘listen guys, thank you very much. Let me go and do something else’.

“The question lies with Harry Kane. Do you want to be the top scorer in Premier League history? Is that your goal? Or do you want to go and win some trophies? And if he went to Bayern, he could win the Champions League.”

Kane in the Champions League with Bayern

During the ten or so years Kane has played at the top level, Bayern have won two European Cups, including the Treble.

There is every chance that the German giants can repeat such a season again, if they manage to secure the talents of the goal-crazy Kane – James Maddison recently told talkSPORT that he can’t wait to play with the ‘brilliant’ striker on the domestic stage, well, he might not get that chance if Bayern get their way.

One thing is for sure, the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer Alan Shearer will be cheering him on, with Ian Wright recently sending the Newcastle legend a message about Kane possibly heading to Bayern.
