West Ham United may well have received a boost in their chase for one of their key defensive targets this summer.

Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham United have been busy this summer with the Spaniard replacing David Moyes at the helm for the Hammers.

West Ham have added Wolves’ Max Kilman to their team with Palmeiras’ promising midfielder Luis Guilherme also joining the Hammers after a £20 million deal was agreed.

However, the Hammers are keen to sign a partner for Kilman and HITC reported that West Ham were in talks with Oumar Solet, who plays for Austrian side RB Salzburg.

Another name that West Ham are interested in is Jean-Clair Todibo.

Jean-Clair Todibo transfer update provides West Ham with hope

HITC has previously reported that Juventus had hijacked West Ham’s move for Todibo but there is no sign a deal is close to being done.

Now, a report from French outlet Nice-Matin has provided an update on Todibo’s impending move to Juventus and it looks to be good news for West Ham.

The report states that Juventus are being ‘ridiculous’ with their attempts to sign Todibo this summer. Juventus’ offer reportedly comes nowhere near what West Ham is offering for the Frenchman.

Nice-Matin claims that West Ham’s offer for the midfielder is a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option of £30 million included in the deal.

Juventus, meanwhile, reportedly made their first serious offer for the French defender on Wednesday but their bid was a loan offer with a buy option. According to the report, this offer has been described as ‘ridiculous’.

Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that Juventus’ offer for Todibo is a loan with a £25 million buy option with that fee also made up of bonuses.

Todibo would be a remarkable signing for West Ham

The Frenchman has been linked to Manchester United over the past 12 months but a deal is looking unlikely.

HITC had reported that United were unable to sign Todibo after being blocked by UEFA due to both sides being owned by Ineos and playing in the UEFA Europa League.

West Ham had been locked in talks with OGC Nice for Todibo but the French defender’s preference seems to be Juventus.

However, if Juventus fail to get a deal over the line for the Frenchman, surely West Ham have to chance their arm again for the former Barcelona defender.
