Richards Keys has praised Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on Twitter for their ‘smart’ deadline day January transfer of Jorginho from Chelsea and stated that he’s a player Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United should have signed.
The outspoken TV presenter has been pretty critical of Arsenal before, especially their manager Mikel Arteta, but he thinks they have made the right call here.
At the start of transfer deadline day, many expected a midfielder of a defensive-mind to join the Premier League leaders, perhaps not someone from Chelsea.

Whilst the Gunners brought that level of unexpected nature to the table, Manchester United themselves were also forced into a late move after Christian Eriksen’s injury.
Right at the death on deadline day, Erik ten Hag watched those in the Old Trafford boardroom push through a loan deal for Bayern Munich midfielder, Marcel Sabitzer.
But Richard Keys thinks Italy’s Euro 2020 winner is the man they should have gone for, as Arsenal’s Jorginho’s move was praised.
PROVEN WINNER ADDED
These next few months are going to be pretty nerve-racking for everyone associated with Arsenal, as they push for the Premier League title.
During these difficult moments, you need that calmness, those cool heads to stop panic-like situations from occurring or players from doing things they shouldn’t.
Given that Jorginho is a proven winner – the European Cup and Euro 2020 – then, he will provide that much-needed trophy-winning experience and cool nature to proceedings, which is going to be needed for this ever-progressing and very young Arsenal squad.
