Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will be playing Europa League football next season.

It’s not where both teams want to be because everyone craves Champions League football, but they can’t have any complaints about where they are.

Tottenham are in a different head space than those at Old Trafford and have made huge strides under Ange Postecoglou.

The same can’t be said for Manchester United and their under-fire manager Erik ten Hag – they recorded their worst-ever Premier League finish in over three decades, but managed to make amends by beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

There has been a lot of talk about what needs to be done to change the fortunes around for Manchester United, with the Glazers still coming under huge stick, as INEOS, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, purchased a minority stake in the club.

They will have a huge say on the footballing side of things and fans are hoping it helps them compete at the top again.

Richard Keys was reacting to some suggestions that have been made to help aid the three-time European Cup winners.

There has been a lot of talk about redeveloping Old Trafford, with Gary Neville stating that Tottenham is the ‘benchmark’ because they have the best ground and training facility in Europe.

But Keys responded to those suggestions and stated on Twitter that he’s ‘not sure’ it’s a formula that always works because Spurs have hardly had any trophy success.

It was a brutal jibe at the London club, but the beIN SPORTS presenter clearly isn’t a fan of what needs to make Manchester United ‘great again’

Do Manchester United need to copy Tottenham’s formula?

“I’m reading Utd have to do 3 things to be great again,” said Keys. “1, best stadium in the world. Spurs ✅. “2, best training centre. Spurs ✅. Win. Spurs 🤷‍♂️. I’m not sure the suggested formula always works.”

Will Manchester United sack Erik ten Hag?

The season has finished. The celebrations for winning the FA Cup have died down, yet no one is the wiser as to what will happen to ten Hag.

You feel if they are taking this long to make a call, then the writing is on the wall.

What makes things even more interesting is that Mauricio Pochettino recently left Chelsea and he has long been mentioned to take the Manchester United job.

Now that he is a free agent, it will be interesting to see if the club boot out ten Hag because Pochettino is now available. Otherwise, there aren’t many options out there.
