Jose Enrique has stated that Son Heung-min deserves ‘respect’ for turning down the chance to move to Saudi Arabia from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Saudi Pro League is causing a bit of a storm in England, with the likes of Gary Neville calling for the powers that be to stop transfers to the nation.
From Chelsea star N’Golo Kante to Wolves’ 26-year-old midfielder Ruben Neves, major moves are being made, but when Saudi Arabia seemingly knocked on Son Heung-min’s door, he refused and Enrique wrote on Twitter that he deserves ‘respect’ for that.

Footballers, especially those in the Premier League, earn stupid amounts of money anyway.
But what is being offered to them by those in Saudi is beyond what any of them would have imagined.
Therefore, you can’t blame players for being tempted to join, but for Son, it’s a no and Enrique applauded the £22m player (Guardian) for that.
Son needs to find his form again
After winning the Premier League Golden Boot two seasons ago, Spurs fans would have been excited to see what more their South Korean star was going to showcase because he was hitting the peak of his powers.
But instead, it was a season to forget for the 30-year-old, who only managed ten Premier League goals from his 36 games this term, whilst his partner in crime, Harry Kane netted an incredible 30.
Given what Son has done for the club, he is allowed to go through such a situation, but with an attack-minded coach in Ange Postecoglou now in the dugout, he will be hoping to find his magic again.
