Tottenham Hotspur are expected to learn the decision of Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba on Monday – but it may not go in their favour.
The Sunday Mirror (29/08, p66) report that Tottenham will know on Monday if they have won the race for Moriba.
Both Tottenham and RB Leipzig have been pushing for Moriba, who Barcelona are being forced to sell because he won’t sign a new contract.
Mundo Deportivo suggested on Saturday that Moriba was interested in signing for Tottenham, but had an agreement in place with Leipzig.
A final decision is expected on Monday, but Sky Germany report that Moriba’s move to Leipzig is now ‘nearing completion’.
It’s noted that Tottenham have been trying to stop Moriba from joining Leipzig, but they have so far failed to hijack the deal.

Moriba, who has been likened to Paul Pogba, has been tipped for a huge future and is now expected to sign for Leipzig instead of Tottenham.
The 18-year-old joined Barca from rivals Espanyol in 2010, and has already made 18 appearances for Barcelona’s first team, scoring one goal.
Tottenham were hoping to add him to their squad, with Fabio Paratici making a real push to snap him up.
Having Moriba and Pape Matar Sarr for the future would have been incredible for Tottenham, but it currently looks like Moriba is Germany-bound.
