Vitor Pereira is a name Everton fans will know very well from repeated links with a move to Goodison Park.

The 52-year-old has had a pretty nomadic managerial career, with spells at Porto, Al Ahli, Olympiacos, Fenerbahce, 1860 Munich and Shanghai SIPG.

With four league titles to his name, Pereira has carved out a pretty decent managerial career, winning 283 of his 505 games in management.

Goal reported way, way back in 2013 that Everton fancied appointing Pereira as David Moyes’ replacement following his move to Manchester United.

Pereira’s name returned to the frame in 2019 after Marco Silva’s exit, but he actually turned down the job in order to stay loyal to Shanghai SIPG.

In December 2020, Pereira left his position with the Chinese side, and it’s no great surprise to see that he is now being linked with Everton once again.

The Mirror claim that Pereira is on Everton’s shortlist to replace Carlo Ancelotti following his seemingly rapid move to Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The Sun add that Pereira actually wants the job this time, giving Farhad Moshiri plenty to think about in the race to replace Ancelotti.

He’s clearly been a wanted man at Everton for a long time now, and the stars may be aligning for him to finally get the job at Goodison Park.
