Tottenham Hotspur are looking to move in for Wilfried Gnonto as Everton face a major battle for the Leeds United talent.

Wilfried Gnonto is wanted by Tottenham Hotspur with Everton in danger of missing on the Leeds United attacker.

That is according to London World reporter Rahman Osman, who claims that Tottenham are in the race for Gnonto.

Osman states that Everton are still the frontrunners to sign Gnonto having shown major interest in him this summer.

Tottenham are ‘not too far behind’ though and Gnonto wants to land a move away from Leeds as soon as possible.

Leeds are seeking around £20million for Gnonto and a bid will now be considered for the Italian talent.

London World’s full report adds that Gnonto would jump at the opportunity to move to London and join Tottenham this summer.

Tottenham and Leeds have already struck one deal of late with defender Joe Rodon making a move to Elland Road.

Maybe Gnonto was discussed during those talks with Tottenham now weighing up whether to fight Everton for his signature.

Wilfried Gnonto an alternative to Gift Orban for Tottenham

Tottenham have sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, losing their talismanic goalscorer just a few days ago.

Spurs will surely look to bring in an attacker but the rumours seem to be pointing towards a versatile attacker rather than an out-and-out centre forward.

Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson is one option whilst there have been strong links to Gent sensation Gift Orban too.

Gnonto offers another option in a similar mould – a young talent with pace and the versatility to play across the front line.

The 19-year-old – formerly of Inter Milan – joined Leeds from Swiss side FC Zurich last summer.

Gnonto is a diminutive talent at just 5ft 7in tall but caused problems for defenders last season with two goals and four assists in 24 Premier League games.

Hailed as a ‘special talent’ by former Leeds and Tottenham stopper Paul Robinson, Gnonto clearly has major potential and Ange Postecoglou may now seek to lure him to North London.
