Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
TEAMtalk reported on December 22 that Tottenham and Rangers are interested in signing Johnstone, who is out of contract at West Brom at the end of the season.
Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for the England international goalkeeper in January
Rangers are keen as well and could offer the 28-year-old goalkeeper a pre-contract.
However, it seems that Johnstone wants to play in the Premier League.
Rangers and Tottenham target Sam Johnstone on his future
Johnstone told Metro: “There was a lot of talk in the summer. It (a transfer) just didn’t happen and we are focused on doing our best to get promoted back up this year. That is the only aim.
“I see the speculation and there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s out of my control but I want to be back playing in the Premier League.”

Blow for Rangers, encouraging for Tottenham
In our view, Johnstone’s comments are a blow for Rangers, but they are very encouraging for Tottenham.
Johnstone has played in the Premier League before with West Brom.
And it is really not hard to understand why he would want to play in the division again.
Most professional footballers would love to play in the Premier League.
It is unlikely that Rangers will be able to sign Johnstone.
Tottenham are a massive club, and Johnstone could be tempted by a move to the North London club if they make an offer for him.
