Aston Villa and West Ham United reportedly want Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.

Chelsea central defender Gary Cahill has told Goal.com that he wants to play in the Premier League next season, amid reported interest from Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Cahill is out of contract at Chelsea this summer, and no new contract is in place, with Goal.com reporting that the former Bolton Wanderers star will part company with the London club.

According to The Mirror (print edition, page 59, April 17, 2019), West Ham are interested in bringing the Englishman to the London Stadium this summer (click here to read more).

The Sun has claimed of interest in the 33-year-old centre-back from Aston Villa, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship via the playoffs.

Cahill started his professional club football career at Villa and played for the Villans until 2008 before moving to Bolton.

Future plan

The Chelsea star – who earns £110,000 per week as salary, according to The Telegraph – has suggested that he wants to play in the Premier League next season.

Cahill told Goal.com about his future: “I’m confident that potentially I might stay in the league but I want to wait and see, take the decision over the summer.

“I’ve got a lot of time to think about things and hopefully make the right decision. I can’t wait to get back playing next season. I’m looking forward to that.”
