According to El Confidencial, Wolves are interested in signing Real Madrid maestro Dani Ceballos after his loan spell at Arsenal ended.

What’s the story?

Well, the 24-year-old spent both the 2019/20 and 2020/21 campaigns on loan at Arsenal, where he helped the Gunners win the FA Cup.

Now, he’s back at Real Madrid, but his future is uncertain.

The departure of Zinedine Zidane has potentially reopened a door for Ceballos in Madrid, although he could also return to Real Betis.

El Confidencial also believe Wolves are interested.

The Spanish news outlet add that Real Madrid are open to selling the 11-cap Spain international for €16.5 million (£14.2 million).

El Confidencial claim Wolves can easily afford to meet that asking price.

What type of player is Dani Ceballos?

Well, after facing him four times in two seasons, Wolves should know all about the attacking midfielder.

Ceballos isn’t a goalscorer, having netted just twice in 77 appearances for Arsenal.

He’s not exactly a provider of goals either, registering just five assists in those 77 outings.

However, the Spaniard is a silky footballer, who often finds ways to wriggle out of gaps and start attacks for his side.

Gary Lineker seems to agree with that sentiment, calling him a ‘lovely footballer’ back in 2019 shortly after Ceballos arrived in north London.

If Wolves bring the Spaniard back to the Premier League, they’ll be getting a fine technician who Bruno Lage can get excited about.
