According to a report by ABC Deportes (Via TuttoMercatoWeb), Reported Wolves target Luka Jovic will be free to leave Real Madrid this month if Los Blancos sign a new striker.
Wolves certainly need a new striker after Raul Jimenez went down injured, so this is a bit of a boost to the clubs.
However, for Real Madrid signing a striker is easier said than done.
The Spanish giants may be one of the richest clubs in the world, but they’re not immune to the financial issues brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
Fabrizio Romano recently commented on Madrid’s finances, saying that they were in a complicated economic situation, claiming that they can’t sign any players this month.
Unfortunately, it seems as though Wolves’ chances of landing Jovic are slim, as Madrid don’t seem to be in the market for a striker at the moment due to their financial struggles.
Luckily, Wolves do have two other names on their list of potential striker targets, those being Divock Origi and Josh King.
However, as ever, we can’t write anything off in the transfer market as things can change at a moment’s notice.
Madrid may be in a bad financial situation at the moment, but player sales or a bargain deal coming onto the table may change their stance on making signings this month.
Admittedly, the chances of Jovic moving don’t seem high, but this is a situation that is worth keeping one eye on.
