Jose Sa is waiting to be unveiled at Wolverhampton Wanderers as super-agent Jorge Mendes continues talks with Olympiakos president Vangelis Marinakis, as reported by Sportime.

It is high time Sa packed his bags, said his goodbyes and planned his route to Athens airport.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper is Wolves’ top choice to replace the wantaway Rui Patricio at Molineux and, if reports coming out of Greece are to be believed, everything is in place for Sa’s arrival.

The I’s are dotted, the T’s crossed, with official confirmation the only thing missing at this stage.

Sportime claim that there is an agreement in place from all sides.

Jorge Mendes, the super-agent who represents Sa and played a major role in taking the likes of Joao Moutinho, Diogo Jota, Daniel Podence to Wolves, held talks with Okympiakos’s owner this week as the finish line looms into view.

It is believed that Wolves will pay £9 million for Sa, a 6ft 4ins man-mountain of a shot-stopper whose ability to command the penalty area with confidence and authority should stand him in good stead ahead of a move to English football.

Is Jose Sa’s £9m move to Wolves imminent?

In fact, there is only one thing holding up the deal.

Patricio has agreed a three-year, £40,000-a-week contract at Roma.

But the Serie A giants are yet to stump up the £10 million Wolves want for their 33-year-old veteran and, until that is sorted out, Jose Sa will be left in limbo.

Interestingly, Wolves have also been linked with West Brom’s Sam Johnstone and Leicester City’s Danny Ward while reports in Italy have suggested that they would be willing to pay £10 million for Fiorentina glovesman Bartlomiej Dragowski.

Clearly, the Midland giants are reluctant to put all their eggs in a single basket.

But Jose Sa remains the number one choice. And, once Wolves and Roma reach a compromise over Patricio, expect another Iberian shot-stopper to take his place.

Furthermore, Olympiakos are looking to bring in free-agent Tomas Vaclik and former Fulham loanee Alphonse Areola as they prepare for life without Sa at the Karaiskakis Stadium (Sportime).
