According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers are fearing that boss Nuno Esirito Santo will leave the club this summer.

It’s claimed that Wolves have now started the process of identifying potential replacements for Nuno in case he does leave this summer.

Bruno Lage is one option, whilst the report adds two more Portuguese managers – Vitor Pereira and Rui Faria, Jose Mourinho’s ex-assistant – are also being considered.

All three have strong links to Jorge Mendes, just like Nuno, and that could be key to any managerial move Wolves choose to make.

Nuno has interest from Spain, and that would allow him to be closer to his family in Portugal, whilst you can’t ignore the Tottenham Hotspur links.

The Express reported last week that Tottenham are keen on Nuno as a replacement for Mourinho, who they ended up sacking just days later.

Claims in Portugal suggest that Mendes doesn’t want Nuno to join Spurs though, having had reservations about the club even before Mourinho took the job.

It seems that Tottenham aren’t the only concern for Wolves, and after a mixed season at Molineux, changes could be coming this summer.
