Jorge Mendes isn’t keen on Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo replacing Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, who claim that agent Mendes wasn’t all that keen on Mourinho joining Spurs in the first place.
Mendes runs the Gestifute agency who represent both Mourinho and Nuno, and he felt Spurs were too unstable for Mourinho to succeed with.
With that in mind, the report notes that it’s subsequently ‘unlikely’ that Nuno will head to Tottenham having just sacked one of Mendes’ other clients.
Spurs parted ways with Mourinho on Monday morning, and with Ryan Mason now in charge until the end of the season, a new appointment won’t be made for a while.
The Express reported last week that Nuno is a top target for Spurs, having been impressed with his work at Molineux.

Nuno has certainly done a fine job with Wolves, though this season has been one of transition, and it’s been a difficult campaign.
Spurs may well fancy Nuno – who actually played under Mourinho at Porto – but with agent Mendes far from a fan of Tottenham right now, it looks like a move has been effectively ruled out.
