The Mail claim Wolves are looking to sign £20million-rated Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson as a replacement for Willy Boly in the final week of the window – with Nottingham Forest expected to sign the Ivory Coast international.

Boly, 31, has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Wolves and Nottingham Forest are keen. Reports this month state that Wolves have already rejected a £1million offer from newly-promoted Forest; they want a replacement.

Indeed, it seems Wolves have now found that replacement in the form of Nelsson. Finally kicking into gear in the summer window, Wolves have spent big on Nathan Collins, Matheus Nunes and Goncalo Guedes. More are expected.

The report claims that Wolves are looking to not only sign Sasa Kalajdzic, but also Denmark international Nelsson. Joining Gala last summer, he impressed in his first season – keeping 13 clean sheets in 45 appearances for Gala.

Still young, Gala want as much as £20million and Wolves are interested. Indeed, Nottingham Forest remain keen on 31-year-old Boly and if Wolves land Nelsson, then Forest could be given a free run at France-born Boly.

Nelsson would be a stunning addition for Wolves. Getting rid of a player for some cash at least, in the final year of his deal, Wolves would be replacing him with a player that would arguably be their best option at centre-back.

Still only 23, Nelsson has proven even in the Europa League against Barcelona that he can become a real player. No-nonsense, strong in the air – but combines it with the passing ability of a midfielder. £20million could be a bargain.

In terms of Boly, it is important Wolves replace him and get his wages off the list – rather than being forced to pay him for another season. It is likely Boly would struggle to play more than 10 times this term, so selling him is important.
