Daniel Podence looks set to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, with a move to Spanish side Real Betis being described as ‘advanced’.
Daniel Podence could leave Wolverhampton Wanderers for Real Betis
That’s according to Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda, who claims that Real Betis are in advanced talks to sign the dynamic Wolverhampton Wanderers winger, with a mooted bid of around £7-10 million being prepared by the Spanish club.
Podence, who netted six times in the Premier League for Wolves, was limited to substitute appearances throughout the second half of the season with manager Julen Lopetegui opting for Matheus Nunes on the left wing.
Former PSG winger Pablo Sarabia was deployed on the right-hand side.
Podence, 27, arrived at Wolves from Greek side Olympiakos for £17 million (Express & Star), so a potential transfer to Betis for £10m would represent a big loss on the accounts for the West Midlands club.
Big clearout continues for Lopotegui’s Wolves
After the shock departure of Ruben Neves to Saudi Arabia, Wolves look set to sell another one of their assets in Podence.

With Max Kilman also being linked with a move away from Wolves, this would represent a healthy bit of cash in the coffers for Lopetegui to spend, although, like most Premier League clubs this summer, the Wanderers would have to be aware of Financial Fair Play when completing their summer transfer business.
This is due to Wolves spending over £100 million more than they brought in, which under the new FFP law means that Wolves need to recoup a proportion of that money with sales.
As well as those sales, the £7.5 million fee received for Conor Coady from Leicester plus the potential £1 million received in achievable add-ons will also help Lopotegui this summer.
The confirmed sale of Neves and the rumoured sale of Daniel Podence would go a long way to easing the financial burden at Molineux this summer.
