Jude Bellingham has long been touted as a target for Liverpool, and with The Times reporting that the Reds will be in the market for a new high-profile midfielder next summer, there has been plenty of speculation about the midfielder heading to Anfield.

Bellingham is a player Jurgen Klopp really wants to bring to Merseyside, but according to a report by The National News, Liverpool are losng confidence in their chances of landing the England international.

Indeed, while Liverpool are ready to spend big money on a new midfielder next summer, with a £90m fee touted for Bellingham, the Reds aren’t willing to break their wage structure.

Bellingham is likely to be courted by some of the biggest clubs in the world next year, with Real Madrid and Manchester United reportedly keen, and while Liverpool are certainly on their level, they’ve proven time and time again that they’re not willing to overpay when it comes to wages.

There’s a reason Mohamed Salah’s new deal hasn’t been sorted out yet, and there’s a reason that Sadio Mane is heading to Bayern Munich, Liverpool have a set wage structure, and they will not budge from it.

Sadly for the Reds, they feel as though their stubbornness on wages may stop them from landing Bellingham as other clubs may well offer him a substantially higher pay-packet.

Alternative options are being eyed up, but it won’t be easy for Liverpool to find a player as talented or as promising as the Birmingham City academy graduate.
