According to The Telegraph, Antonio Conte is close to becoming the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

It has been reported that Spurs are ‘growing increasingly confident’ that the former Chelsea boss will be their new manager.

The Italian tactician could be handed a three-year contract, and there is ‘increasing optimism on both sides’ that an agreement will be reached, according to the report.

“Sources close to Tottenham believe it is now a matter of time until Conte is officially appointed,” states the report in The Telegraph.

Exciting for Tottenham Hotspur fans

Spurs have been without a permanent manager since April when Jose Mourinho was sacked.

Ryan Mason was never really going to become the permanent boss because he is very inexperienced.

Conte is one of the best managers in the world who has won league titles with Juventus, Inter Milan and Chelsea.

The 51-year-old knows how to create a winning team.

Just look at his achievements at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter.

Conte is likely to have certain demands that he would expect to be met.

If an appointment is close, then it means that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has accepted those demands.

This should excite Tottenham fans.

Yes, Conte is a former Chelsea manager who said some wonderful things about the Blues’ fans, but he is also a professional.

After all, the Italian boss took charge of Inter despite being a former Juventus manager.

If Conte is appointed by Tottenham, then it will show a lot of ambition on the part of Levy.

Conte is not going to come to Spurs if he does not think that he can win big things with the club… if he is given time.
