According to a report by The Times, Arsenal believe that Martin Odegaard may be open to staying with the club beyond the end of this season.
The Norwegian has been a revelation since joining the club in the summer, and as you can imagine, that has led to a lot of speculation about what the future holds for the Real Madrid loanee.
Understandably, Arsenal want to keep hold of Odegaard, as has been reported many times, but as ever, the ball is in the player’s court.
The Gunners seem to believe that the player will be open to staying after such a strong start to life in north London, and that is of course a massive boost to their chances of landing him.
We can understand why Odegaard would be open to staying. He’s playing some of the best football of his career under a manager who seems to really trust him.

Of course, Real Madrid also have a say in whether or not Odegaard will be allowed to leave this summer, and The Times claims that they’re yet to decide whether or not they want to sell him in order to raise funds to land either Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe.
The fact that the Gunners believe that the player is open to staying is certainly good news, but it doesn’t seem as though there’s been any real progress towards making a deal with Los Blancos at this moment in time.
This remains a situation to keep an eye on, but the Gunners appear to be quietly confident that Odegaard is open to staying beyond this season.
