According to L’Equipe, West Ham have submitted a £25m bid for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, who’s also a target for Tottenham and Everton.
What’s the story?
Well, it appears that West Ham have made the first concrete move.
It was said that Rafa Benitez was considering a deal to bring Zouma back to Goodison Park, after he spent the 2018/19 season on loan with the Toffees.
Elsewhere, it was Sky Sports who claimed that Tottenham had joined the race for the 8-cap France international.
Now, fuel has been added to the fire with West Ham offering £25m for the 26-year-old, who doesn’t appear to be in Thomas Tuchel’s starting XI.
Zouma began the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on the bench, with 22-year-old Trevor Chalobah preferred ahead of him.
Kurt Zouma is just what West Ham need

When was the last time West Ham bought a young centre-back capable of making an immediate impact?
The £22m deal for Issa Diop springs to mind, but a lack of Premier League experience saw the Frenchman fail.
With 165 Premier League appearances under his belt, Zouma will surely make more of an impact at the London Stadium than his fellow countryman.
The centre-back department looks quite light for David Moyes following Fabian Balbuena’s exit, so another option is certainly necessary.

Zouma arguably still has a decade left at the top, and has all the attributes needed to succeed in east London.
If West Ham can get this deal over the line, it would be a superb bit of business.
In fact, it would even make up for the alarming lack of transfer activity, which has seen only Alphonse Areola arrive in east London so far.
