West Ham United have walked away from a deal for Nikola Milenkovic and reignited their interest in Kurt Zouma, according to The Guardian.
What’s the story?
According to the publication, the Hammers are not prepared to meet the Frenchman’s wage demands.
The Sun are claiming Zouma has demanded £120k-per-week to join another club. His demands are almost double what he currently earns at Chelsea – £65k-per-week.
According to Spotrac, the club’s highest earner is Andriy Yarmolenko, who currently earns £115k-per-week.
With regards to Milenkovic, Tottenham Hotspur are now in the race for the ace. Spurs are allegedly attempting to clinch a double deal for the Fiorentina ace and his teammate Dusan Vlahovic.

A centre-back is necessary for West Ham
Whether it is Zouma or Milenkovic, West Ham are in dire need of reinforcements at centre-half.
The club started the season with a win at Newcastle United. And while that was a great start to the new campaign, it would have been occurrences off the pitch which worried David Moyes.
Moyes could only announce one senior centre-back on the bench – Issa Diop. When you are attempting the Thursday-Sunday combination, you need incredible squad depth.
West Ham are one injury away from disaster. Two, and the club may as well write off the remainder of the campaign.
Signing a central defender is Moyes’ most important mission as the window reaches its conclusion.
