A deal is believed to have cost Verona a bargain £9million – but they are willing to cash in immediately. Gazzetta say Arsenal want to sign him with a fee of just £13million required to land Diego Simeone’s son.
However, West Ham have now opened talks with the striker’s representatives over a move to the London Stadium. West Ham want cover and competition for Michail Antonio as they prepare for another European campaign.
West Ham have held talks for Arsenal target Simeone
Which move is his best move? As things stand, Arsenal. But the Gunners have kept Eddie Nketiah and the chances are, they are going to bring in a bigger signing up top. Simeone might find himself as third choice.
But if he is to be the Gunners’ only striker signing, then a move to the Emirates makes more sense – due to their Europa League qualification and a much more realistic chance of finishing in the top four.
If Arsenal do sign the likes of Gabriel Jesus or another striker, then West Ham suits Simeone better. Antonio is now 32 and injury prone, meaning he could quite easily overtake the ex-Nottingham Forest man up top.
