According to Football London, West Ham United are amongst the teams who have asked about Christian Eriksen as his Brentford contract comes to an end.

The Danish midfielder returned to the Premier League in dramatic fashion after his cardiac arrest last summer, and somehow, he managed to rediscover his best form after returning to England.

Eriksen only signed a short-term contract with Brentford, and now, after proving his quality once again, the midfielder is being courted by a whole host of top clubs.

Manchester United are keen, Tottenham have been strongly linked, Brentford want him, and now, West Ham are in the race.

Eriksen reportedly wants to stay in London, so you have to feel as though West Ham have a real chance of landing the midfielder.

Think about it, Tottenham have just signed Yves Bissouma and don’t play with a creative number 10, so Eriksen wouldn’t really fit in there, Manchester United, of course, aren’t based in London, and with all due respect to Brentford, West Ham can offer him more in terms of both finances and potential success.

The Hammers are certainly in the market for a player of this ilk. Nikola Vlasic is seemingly on his way out of the club, and with Jesse Lingard looking like going abroad, there is a gap in David Moyes’ midfield ready-made for Eriksen.

Whether or not Eriksen will betray his Tottenham affiliations and join West Ham remains to be seen, but it has to be said that a move to the London Stadium does seem appealing for the ‘unbelievable’ ace.
