According to ESPN, West Ham sent an enquiry about Jesse Lingard in Manchester United’s direction last week.
What’s the story?
Well, it seems David Moyes isn’t giving up on the £75,000-a-week man just yet.
Lingard shone for the Hammers after joining on loan in January last season, scoring nine goals in 16 Premier League appearances.
The 28-year-old has since returned to Manchester United, and played the final four minutes of Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Southampton.
Despite his involvement, it has been said that he wants to leave Old Trafford.
Everton are also believed to be interested in the 29-cap England international.
West Ham need Jesse Lingard more than Everton

After two games of the Premier League season, West Ham have picked up right from where they left off.
Two wins, eight goals scored and just three conceded is excellent stuff from the east Londoners, although tougher times are coming.
When the Europa League gets going, and Michail Antonio’s weary hamstrings are tested again, alternatives will be required.

After Sebastien Haller’s exit, there is no competition for Antonio, so Lingard’s arrival is a necessity – in our view.
He has proven himself to be someone who can come into Moyes’ set-up and maintain the attacking momentum, and also seems to be a popular man at the London Stadium.
If West Ham only do one thing between now and deadline day, it should be to bring Lingard back to east London.
