French outlet Media Foot claim Lyon, West Ham and Newcastle are all still trying to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma this month – after the Italy international rejected a move to Bournemouth. Milan are struggling to meet Roma’s price tag.

Zaniolo, 23, is on the transfer list at Roma after talks over a new deal under Jose Mourinho broke down. His current contract at Roma is due to expire in the summer of 2024. That is, despite having a hand in 17 goals for Roma last term.

TMW claim that Bournemouth tabled a fee of £31million to sign Zaniolo – which was accepted by Roma. But perhaps, unsurprisingly, Zaniolo has turned down the chance to join the Cherries. Roma want a permanent sale of Zaniolo now.

That, or a loan with an obligation. AC Milan are willing to offer that, but for a fee of just £24.5million, according to CM. Tottenham have been linked, but Spurs have since signed Arnaut Danjuma. So, his future remains up in the air at Roma.

Now, Media Foot claim Lyon have entered the fray – while Newcastle and West Ham are also trying to sign Zaniolo. It is unclear if Spurs will return. Whether the remaining interested parties will meet Roma’s price tag remains to be seen.

Milan are unable to pay the required fee and Zaniolo rejecting Bournemouth – Newcastle and West Ham have a real chance of getting him. The Toon are keen on Anthony Gordon. Dharmesh Sheth has reported that Spurs remain keen.

But if a move falls through, with Everton standing firm on their £60million price tag, then Zaniolo could be their back-up. West Ham need more in attack if they are to fire themselves away from the threat of Premier League relegation.
