According to 90min, West Ham have agreed a deal with Sassuolo for Gianluca Scamacca, who is a target for Premier League rivals Newcastle.
What’s the story?
Well, it was said that Eddie Howe wanted to have another go at signing the Italy international, after he rejected a move to Tyneside in January.
However, Newcastle look set to miss out once again, as West Ham shake hands on a €40m (£34m) agreement with the Serie A outfit.
90min add that West Ham also shortlisted Armando Broja, but talks with Sassuolo have rapidly progressed in the past few days, and an initial agreement has now been struck.
The east Londoners just need to finalise the structure of the payment to Sassuolo, while they will also need to agree personal terms with Scamacca.
However, that is not expected to be a problem, as 90min believe the 23-year-old is keen on a move to the London Stadium.
Scamacca’s big-money move to the Premier League comes after he impressively scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season, becoming a regular at No.9 for Italy along the way.
West Ham beat Newcastle to Robert Lewandowski 2.0

If you don’t know much about Scamacca, then perhaps a comparison to a more high-profile player may help.
Interestingly, the Italian has been likened to Bayern Munich and Poland marksman Robert Lewandowski, a man with 509 goals in 676 appearances throughout his career.
That is an astonishing record, and if Scamacca is even 50% as good as the Pole, David Moyes is in for a treat.

Additionally, the Sassuolo No.91 has also been compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which speaks volumes about his ability in front of goal, as well as how effectively he uses his 6ft 5in frame.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Scamacca should soon be heading to England for his medical.
