Newcastle United fancy Gianluca Scamacca again but fear that the Sassuolo striker wants to stay in Italy this summer.
The Magpies are on the verge of a huge capture with Lille defender Sven Botman arriving for a medical.
Matt Targett has signed permanent from Aston Villa whilst Nick Pope joined from Burnley last week.
This is all strong business from Newcastle but Eddie Howe may still be keen on adding another striker this summer.
Chris Wood wasn’t exactly prolific after his January move and Callum Wilson’s history of injuries is a concern.
Newcastle United fancy Gianluca Scamacca again
It therefore wouldn’t be a surprise to see Newcastle make a move to sign a new striker this summer.
A few names have been mentioned but Hugo Ekitike has been the top target; a move for the Reims wonderkid now looks hugely unlikely.
The Daily Mail claim that Newcastle have started to look elsewhere and one target is Scamacca.
Newcastle are thought to be keen on signing Scamacca, but they have a fear that the 6ft 5in target man only wants to play in Italy.

Newcastle were keen on Scamacca in January, but reports from Italy suggest that the striker actually rejected the Magpies.
Scamacca allegedly didn’t fancy tying himself to a team mired in a relegation battle at the time, long before Newcastle pulled themselves well clear of danger.
It makes sense that Newcastle would therefore think about trying again for Scamacca.
The fear is that Scamacca wants to stay in Italy, but claims from Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus have all backed away from a deal.
That report states that Sassuolo want £39million for Scamacca, with West Ham interested in a deal.
Scamacca is a wanted man after 16 goals in 36 Serie A games last season but both Newcastle and West Ham may be left disappointed if the Italian chooses to hold out for a move in his homeland.
