West Brom are reportedly looking at Lee Bowyer as a potential Slaven Bilic replacement, according to the Mirror.

The current Charlton boss has earnt a number of admirers during his time at The Valley, and it seems as though he may soon get a chance to manage in the Premier League.

Bowyer, of course, is no stranger to the top-flight of English football, making almost 400 appearances in the Premier League during his playing career.

His managerial career has been something of a rollercoaster so far, earning promotion with Charlton during his first season in charge, before resigning and then re-signing amid ownership issues at the London club.

Last season, Bowyer was unable to keep Athletic in the Championship, with a final day defeat to Leeds consigning them to relegation.

West Brom will be hoping that his fortunes are slightly different this time around as he will be tasked with keeping them in the Premier League if he is appointed.

This comes just days after Trevor Sinclair called for the Baggies to stick with their manager, but with the Midlands club reportedly already eyeing up a replacement, the clock may be ticking on Bilic’s career at The Hawthorns.

Of course, Bilic’s departure may not only be down to poor performances on the pitch.

The Croatian has made it clear that he wasn’t happy about the fact Ahmed Hegazi was allowed to leave the club without his blessing, and the tension between the higher-ups and the manager seems to be close to boiling point.

Bowyer is certainly an interesting option for Albion if they are to look for an alternative to Bilic.
